Pantami Submits Gubernatorial Nomination Amid Protests

On Thursday, Professor Isa Ali Pantami officially submitted his governorship nomination form to the APC national secretariat in Abuja, aiming to contest the Gombe State governorship primary election scheduled for the 21st of the month. This submission follows a consensus decision by the APC leadership to endorse businessman Jamilu Gwamna as the party's candidate, which has sparked opposition from the Pantamiyya Movement, a support group loyal to Pantami.

The group criticized the consensus arrangement as inconsistent with democratic principles and claimed it violated APC's national guidelines. Pantami has publicly expressed his intention to challenge what he perceives as injustices within the party and emphasized the need for a transparent primary election process.

His camp remains resolute in preparing for the primary contest, asserting that they will not retreat despite the consensus arrangement. The situation indicates potential internal conflict within the APC in Gombe State as the primary election approaches.
