Parallel APC Executives Formed in Sokoto State Amid Claims

A new set of executive committee members has emerged from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, leading to claims of a parallel congress. Senator Ibrahim Lamido, representing Sokoto East, explained that the party leadership approved the emergence of local government executives either through consensus or delegate elections.

Isah Sadiq Achida, the APC chairman in Sokoto State, dismissed allegations of a parallel congress as baseless and lacking credibility. He questioned the legitimacy of claims made by individuals not recognized as registered party members, noting that a membership registration exercise had occurred just two weeks prior.

Achida emphasized that the congress was conducted transparently in the presence of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies. Lamido urged party members to work diligently to strengthen the APC for success at both state and national levels, while local government leaders expressed appreciation for ongoing support.
