Aboyeji Urges Christians to Engage in 2027 Elections

Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji, the General Overseer of The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, called on Nigerians, particularly Christians, to engage actively in the political process in preparation for the 2027 general elections. He emphasized the importance of registering to vote, obtaining Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and choosing candidates based on personal convictions.

This appeal was made during a press conference ahead of the church's 13th Annual Public Lecture and 71st Annual National Convention. The public lecture, themed “Building to Last: Faith, Infrastructure and the Future of a Nation,” is set for September 10, 2026, in Lagos.

The church's convention will occur from October 7 to 11, 2026, at the Foursquare Campground in Ajebo, Ogun State, featuring speakers like Apostle Michael Orokpo and Pastor Wole Oladiyun. Aboyeji criticized political apathy, stating it has allowed unqualified individuals to govern, and urged Christians to view political participation as a civic duty rather than a dirty game.
