Military Feud Under Buhari Led to Lack of Air Support

Daniel Bwala, an aide to President Tinubu, stated that a feud within the military during Muhammadu Buhari's presidency led to soldiers being starved of air support during operations. Bwala made these claims during a podcast panel discussion on Echoroom published on Friday.

He noted that the disagreements between the military leadership and the Chief of Air Staff during Buhari's administration meant that requests for air support were sometimes ignored. Bwala dismissed suggestions that military personnel were sympathetic to terrorist groups, stating that such claims were conjectural.

He acknowledged that while there could be isolated cases of infiltration, it should not be generalized. Bwala also commented on broader security concerns, mentioning foreign interference and the presence of pro-Russian demonstrations in northern Nigeria.

He rated the performance of the Tinubu administration highly, citing improvements in foreign reserves and revenue.
