Patrick Vieira, the former manager of Crystal Palace, is currently in talks to take over as the head coach of Senegal's national football team, known as the Teranga Lions. This development follows the departure of Pape Thiaw, who was recently let go after leading the team to the Round of 32 at the World Cup, where they were eliminated by Belgium.

According to reports from Foot Mercato via Fabrizio Romano, discussions regarding Vieira's potential appointment are at an early stage, and no formal agreement has been reached yet. The Senegalese Football Federation has shown interest in Vieira, who has a coaching background that includes stints at Strasbourg, Nice, and Genoa.

The situation remains fluid as negotiations continue for the vacant head coach position.
