Paul Onuachu Reflects on Southampton Struggles and Success

Paul Onuachu, a Super Eagles striker, explained the reasons behind his unsuccessful spell at Southampton, where he joined in January 2023 after a successful career in Belgium and Denmark. He cited a tactical mismatch with the club's system, frequent managerial changes, and the timing of his transfer as key factors in his struggles to score in the Premier League.

Onuachu stated that the transfer occurred mid-season, and although he does not regret his decision, he acknowledged the importance of understanding a club's playing style before signing. He noted that the instability within the coaching staff made it challenging for him to adapt.

Since leaving Southampton, Onuachu has found success at Trabzonspor, where he has scored 45 goals and provided 6 assists in 69 appearances across all competitions, regaining his confidence and form.
