Pay rise for politicians could spark anger – APGA founding Chair, Okorie warns

Chekwas Okorie, the Founding National Chairman of the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has expressed concern over a proposed pay rise for politicians, warning that it could incite public anger. Okorie criticized the move as insensitive, especially at a time when Nigerians are facing economic hardship.

He highlighted the impact of such a decision on the suffering citizens and emphasized that increasing politicians' salaries would only add to their woes. Okorie criticized the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) for being out of touch with the reality of the situation faced by Nigerians.

He called for a downward review of politicians' pay instead of an increase, as the current proposal could exacerbate hunger and anger among the populace.
