IGP Disu Advocates Collaboration for National Security

During the 42nd anniversary celebration of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) held at the Police Resource Centre in Jabi, Abuja, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Disu emphasized the need for deeper collaboration and smarter engagement to enhance national security. He stressed that sustaining partnerships, intelligence sharing, and mutual trust are essential in tackling emerging security threats and building safer communities nationwide.

Disu highlighted that no police reform strategy can succeed without public trust and involvement, noting the critical role of the PCRC in strengthening the relationship between the police and the community. The event was attended by Deputy Inspector General of Police Kenechukwu Onwuemeli, who described the anniversary as a reflection of commitment and sacrifice towards promoting public safety.

The PCRC, established in 1984, has been pivotal in fostering dialogue and cooperation between citizens and law enforcement agencies, aiming to reduce crime and enhance legitimacy in policing.
