PCRC Urges New IGP Disu to Enhance Community Policing

The Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has called on the newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Disu, to sustain ongoing police reforms and deepen intelligence-driven policing while expanding community partnerships in line with global best practices. The PCRC, through its National Chairman, Alhaji Ibraheem Mogaji Olaniyan, congratulated Disu on his appointment, highlighting his three decades of experience in police intelligence, crime control, and security management.

Olaniyan also commended the outgoing IGP, Olukayode Egbetokun, for his leadership, noting his previous roles, including Chief Security Officer to the Lagos State Governor from 1999 to 2005 and his command of the Rapid Response Squad in Lagos. The PCRC emphasized the importance of continuing collaboration to promote public safety and trust in national security, acknowledging Egbetokun's notable security gains and strategic approaches during his tenure, which included establishing a nationwide contact center for rapid response and improving personnel welfare and infrastructure.
