Vunobolki Explains Departure from APC for PDP Candidacy

Dr. Maurice Vunobolki, the Adamawa governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP), articulated his reasons for leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He expressed concerns about the influence of political godfathers and emphasized that the average voter in Adamawa State does not respect such interests when casting their ballots. Vunobolki stated that he is confident in the PDP's ability to reclaim the governorship of Adamawa State, citing the current administration under Governor Amadu Fintiri as having delivered significant democratic dividends.

He criticized the inability of the incumbent governor to ensure a preferred candidate for the APC governorship ticket in the upcoming 2027 polls. Vunobolki also noted that the electorate in Adamawa is increasingly rejecting the notion of political godfathers, referencing past electoral outcomes and the need for independent representation.
