Lawmakers Defect to ADC Amid Political Realignment

On Tuesday, April 21, a significant political realignment occurred as several lawmakers from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Labour Party (LP) defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The plenary session, led by Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, saw the reading of letters of defecting members, which included Thaddeus Attah from Lagos State and five members from the PDP, marking the party's highest loss.

Notable defectors included Abubakar Abdul and Yakubu Noma, who joined the APC, while Ibrahim Moham also defected to the APC. Additionally, Osun lawmakers Mudashiru Alani, Ola Oluwa Adetunji, and Olusoji Odo left the PDP.
