PDP Aspirant Arthur Jarvi Targets Governor Otu in 2027

Arthur Jarvi, a governorship aspirant from the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has vowed to unseat the current Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Jarvi unveiled his grassroots mobilization platform during an address at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport in Calabar, where he emphasized the need to rescue the state from its current underdevelopment.

He criticized the incumbent administration, which assumed office in May 2023, alleging poor performance and a loss of mandate. Jarvi's grassroots movement aims to mobilize residents across all 18 local government areas to improve government accountability and return power to the people.

He highlighted the stagnation of the state’s economy, decaying infrastructure, and neglect of rural communities. Vena Ikem, the PDP state chairman, expressed confidence in the party's strength despite recent challenges and urged aspirants to obtain nomination forms and remain loyal, stressing that the 2027 elections will be pivotal for the party.
