Otu Passes APC Guber Screening, Confident in Party's Future

Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, has cleared the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial screening for the 2027 elections. Speaking to journalists on Friday, Otu described the screening process as thorough and capable of producing diligent leaders for the country.

He emphasized that the APC has significantly improved its internal mechanisms and expressed strong confidence that the party will maintain control in Cross River State and across the country. Otu dismissed the strength of opposition parties, arguing they lack the capacity to compete effectively against the APC.

He further praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, noting that it has made significant progress despite the challenges inherited at the outset. Otu likened the party's growing strength to a political wave, suggesting that the APC is on the verge of a "tsunami" in upcoming elections.

The APC screening exercise continues in Abuja, with several gubernatorial aspirants appearing before the panel.
