PDP Starts Screening for 2027 Presidential, Governorship Aspirants

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has initiated the screening of its presidential and governorship aspirants for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The announcement was made by Abdulraman Moham, who leads the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, through a statement issued by Chinw Nnorom, the party's National Director of Publicity.

The screening for governorship aspirants commenced at noon on Thursday at the PDP National Secretariat Annex, Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja. The presidential aspirants' screening is scheduled to begin at 2 PM on the same day.

The committee for screening presidential aspirants is chaired by former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, with Hassan Sokodobo serving as secretary. Other committee members include Alhaji Abba Isawa, Senator George Sekibo, and several others.

The chairman for the governorship aspirants' screening committee is former Kaduna State Governor Ahmed Makarfi, with George Ariolu as secretary. The NWC has also extended the deadline for purchasing nomination forms to May 15, with the final date for returning completed forms set for May 18.

Screening for state governorship aspirants will occur in Abuja.
