PDP Screens Aspirants for 2027 Presidential Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) began the screening process for its presidential and governorship aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections on Thursday. The screening for governorship aspirants commenced at 12 noon, while the presidential aspirants were scheduled to be screened at 2 p.m.

The screening was conducted by a committee led by Abdulrahman Moham at the party's national secretariat annex located at Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja. The presidential screening committee was chaired by former Abia State Governor Hassan Sokodobo, with Alhaji Abba Isawa serving as secretary.

Members of the presidential screening panel included Senator Georg Sekibo, Sodipo Semiu, Chinelo Chidebelu, Nasiru Moham, Senator Zainab Kure, and Lindsei Sora. The governorship screening committee was chaired by former Kaduna State Governor George Ariolu, with Dr.

Ibrahim Umar serving as secretary. Other members of the governorship screening committee included Prof.

Aisha Madawaki, Tajudeen Yusuf, Dr. Abdulganiyu Oloyin, Babangida Modibbo, Alhaji Buba Biri, Olaniyi Ogungbuji, Mike Ahumib, Gabriel Igboko, Pastor Toni Effiong, and Mr.

Preciou Ojelabi.
