PDP Begins Zoning Process For 2027 Presidential Ticket

The PDP has initiated the zoning process for the 2027 presidential ticket, as reported by Bayelsa State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Convention Zoning Committee, Douye Diri. The decision was made during a meeting in Abuja, following discussions at a PDP Governors Forum gathering in Zamfara State.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party is set to convene at the PDP headquarters in Abuja to deliberate on the proposal put forth by the zoning committee, which includes the allocation of positions within the National Working Committee (NWC) and the presidential ticket. The zoning committee is responsible for distributing 19 NWC offices across geopolitical zones.

The tradition of zoning the national chairmanship to the North and the presidential ticket to the South is expected to continue, with the 2021 chairmanship being zoned to the North and the 2022 presidential ticket being open for competition. Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assured that the party.
