Shehu Sani Warns of PDP's Decline Ahead of 2027 Elections

Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker, voiced his concerns regarding the declining influence of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), which he described as "Africa's biggest party now sinking." Sani remarked that the PDP, once a dominant political force, is experiencing a significant decline in its status and influence, particularly in light of recent defections and internal crises. He noted that the party, which has historically produced three presidents, is now facing challenges that threaten its future ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sani suggested that political scientists should conduct an autopsy of the PDP to ascertain the reasons behind its decline, likening the party to a sinking ship with passengers jumping overboard. He raised questions about whether the party's troubles stem from internal miscalculations or external political attacks, emphasizing the need for reflection on the lessons learned from its current predicament.
