Former PDP Chairman Warns of Party's Internal Crisis Threatening Democracy

Dan Ulasi, a former chairman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, has raised concerns about the party's internal crisis, describing it as a threat to democracy in Nigeria. He highlighted the influence of money in determining political clout and warned against the monetization of political loyalty, which he believes has eroded the party's founding ideals. Ulasi also criticized the defection of former PDP governors to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), labeling them as opportunists prioritizing personal gain over party loyalty.

Despite his criticisms, Ulasi expressed cautious optimism about the PDP's future, urging the party to rebuild, reconcile, and return to its democratic roots. He also commended the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for notable improvements in Abuja's infrastructure.
