PDP's Current State Criticized by Umar Sani on TV

Umar Sani, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), lamented the party's current status during an appearance on a television show on Wednesday. He stated that the PDP is now a "stand alone" party, emphasizing the need for restoration of its internal structure and unity.

Sani criticized the party's leadership, suggesting it is not effectively guiding the party. He referenced a recent ruling by the Appeal Court which nullified the actions of a faction within the party, asserting that this has led to a lack of legitimacy in performing official party functions.

Additionally, a case involving the PDP was adjourned indefinitely in Ibadan, where the court advised the party to seek an amicable resolution outside of the courtroom. The Appeal Court had previously ruled against the PDP regarding its electoral convention held in Ibadan, affirming that the appeal filed by the party lacked merit and upholding the lower court's decision to grant relief to the plaintiffs.
