Court Blocks Turaki Faction from PDP National Secretariat

A court ruling delivered by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik has prohibited the Turaki-led faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from accessing the national secretariat. The judgment stems from a convention held in Ibadan on November 15-16, 2025, which was deemed invalid due to violations of existing court orders and non-compliance with Section 287(3) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).

The court's decision highlighted that the convention conducted by the Turaki-led leadership had no legal effect and breached the internal regulations of the PDP. The ruling mandates that security agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services (DSS), ensure the protection of Nyesom Wike's faction, allowing them to access and conduct activities at the PDP national headquarters.
