Wike's Faction Dismisses Court Ruling on PDP Leadership

Nyesom Wike's faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has characterized the Oyo State High Court's ruling that affirmed Tanimu Turaki's leadership as inconsequential. Wike's faction argues that the ruling does not impact the validity of the PDP's convention set for November 15-16, 2025.

They emphasize that previous federal court decisions have already invalidated the convention and that the court's judgment is merely an academic exercise. The faction's statement, released by Moham Abdulrahman and Samuel Anyanwu, highlights that the ruling does not bind the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which was neither a party to the suit nor represented in the proceedings.

The faction also notes that the Oyo State High Court's jurisdiction was challenged, and the ruling does not alter the status of the upcoming convention, which they maintain remains invalid.
