Wike's Camp Accuses Turaki of Sabotaging PDP Convention

The faction led by Nyesom Wike has accused the Taminu Turaki-led National Caretaker Working Committee (NWC) of plotting to sabotage the upcoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convention, which is scheduled to take place on March 29-30, 2026. This accusation comes in light of a federal high court ruling in Abuja that has nullified the caretaker committee's authority.

Jungudo Haruna, the National Public Secretary, stated that there is an ongoing plot to stop the convention, but he affirmed that it will proceed as scheduled. He emphasized that the judiciary has ruled in favor of the caretaker committee, which is recognized as the legitimate leadership of the PDP.

In response, Ini Ememobong, a member of the caretaker committee, criticized the Turaki faction for allegedly crying wolf and suggested that they should focus on reconciliation rather than escalating tensions. The situation remains tense as both factions prepare for the convention amidst legal challenges.
