PDP Faction Launches Nomination Forms for 2026 Convention

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Wike has initiated the sale of nomination forms in preparation for the upcoming national convention set for March 29-30, 2026. This decision was announced following the party's 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja.

The communiqué from the meeting, signed by Abdulrahman Moham, the acting National Chairman, and Samuel Anyanwu, the acting National Secretary, urged interested aspirants to comply with the established guidelines. The NEC reaffirmed the zoning formula for national elective positions, indicating that the distribution of offices will be designed to balance regional interests.

The party leaders stressed the importance of unity and readiness for the convention, which is crucial for ensuring a smooth process. This development comes against the backdrop of a prolonged leadership crisis within the party, which has seen various factions emerge since November 2025, following the Ibadan convention that produced Kabiru Turaki as a member of the National Working Committee.
