PDP Confirms National Convention Dates for March 2026

The Nyesom Wike-led faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed that the dates for the national convention, scheduled for March 29-30, 2026, are sacrosanct. During a press briefing in Abuja, the faction expressed readiness for the convention and outlined the completion of state congresses, which were conducted in compliance with a ruling by Justice James Omotosho.

Haruna Jungudo, the party's spokesperson, noted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been notified of the convention plans, which are aligned with existing electoral guidelines. The PDP's caretaker committee is set to publish the names of the convention committee members, and various subcommittees have been established to manage logistics, security, and media accreditation for the event.

The party has also completed congresses in Plateau State and is preparing for zonal congresses in the South East and North West regions.
