PDP Faction Rejects Claims on Anyanwu's Suspension Appeal

The faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by Abdurahman Moham has dismissed reports concerning Senator Anyanwu's suspension appeal, describing them as misleading and lacking proper context. A statement issued on Saturday clarified that no valid suspension had ever been placed on Anyanwu, contrary to the reports.

Moham noted that the case was initiated in the Federal Capital Territory High Court to challenge the disciplinary committee's recommendations, which were made by Tom Ikimi. He emphasized that the committee's recommendations carried no legal weight and were later discarded for violating the party's constitution.

The faction referenced a January 2026 judgment from the FCT High Court, which did not affirm Anyanwu's suspension, and stated that the suit was dismissed on the grounds of lack of jurisdiction over the disciplinary matter. The faction also disclosed that Anyanwu's appeal had been withdrawn, maintaining that the party's leadership structure remains valid, citing an earlier court judgment that upheld the composition of the national caretaker committee.
