PDP Appoints Interim Leadership After Supreme Court Ruling

Following a Supreme Court judgment that nullified the previous leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), an interim national working committee has been established, led by Kabiru Tanimu Turaki. Adolphus Wabara announced this development on a Monday, emphasizing the need to rebuild the party and prevent a leadership vacuum.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) convened in Abuja, where two-thirds of its members participated in the meeting. Wabara highlighted the importance of unity and sacrifice among party members to navigate the current leadership crisis and prepare for the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence in the party's resilience and ability to overcome internal challenges. Governor Seyi Makinde also urged members to set aside personal interests for collective action.

The interim leadership is tasked with stabilizing the party and ensuring compliance with democratic principles as they move forward.
