Olawepo-Hashim Advocates for PDP Reconciliation Efforts

During a live interview on Wednesday, Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a former presidential aspirant, expressed optimism about reconciliation within the People's Democratic Party (PDP). His comments came after the Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed the faction led by Taminu Turaki on October 31, 2025.

The court's ruling restrains the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the 2025 national convention of the PDP. Olawepo-Hashim noted that the party has already agreed to pursue the matter in the apex court, emphasizing the urgent need for unity within the party.

He mentioned that various groups within the PDP have been engaging in discussions aimed at reconciliation, and he is hopeful that public acknowledgment of these efforts will lead to a positive outcome. Olawepo-Hashim expressed gratitude for the progress made in talks and indicated that the next steps towards reconciliation are being considered.
