Olawepo-Hashim Advocates Reconciliation in PDP Factions

Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, a former presidential aspirant, indicated a willingness to reconcile the factions within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after a recent court ruling. The Court of Appeal in Abuja dismissed the faction led by Taminu Turaki, which had sought to challenge a Federal High Court ruling from October 31, 2025.

This ruling restrained the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the 2025 national convention of the PDP. In an interview on Arise Television's prime time program on Wednesday, Olawepo-Hashim emphasized that pursuing the matter to the apex court would not benefit the party.

His comments reflect a desire for unity within the PDP amidst ongoing internal disputes.
