PDP's Kolawole Vows to Rebuild Party After Fractures

Bisi Kolawole, the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for Ekiti State in 2022, expressed a commitment to rebuilding the party after acknowledging its recent fractures. His statements were made during the state congress held on Saturday in Ado Ekiti, which was monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.

During this congress, Lanr Omolase was elected as the new chairman, succeeding former governor Ayodele Fayose, with Tunde Ogunleye emerging as the secretary. Other members of the newly elected state working committee include Babatunde Akand as deputy chairman, Femi Philip as public secretary, and Lawrence Odunayo as organizational secretary, among others.

Kolawole emphasized the need for unity and discipline within the party to restore confidence among members and strengthen internal democracy. He also mentioned ongoing consultations with party leaders and stakeholders to ensure the PDP emerges stronger and more united.
