Wike-Backed PDP Faction Commits to Rebuilding in Ekiti

A faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, supported by Nyesom Wike, has committed to rebuilding the party to regain its strength ahead of the 2027 general elections. The faction recently inaugurated Lanre Omolasa as the state chairman, who expressed readiness to reposition the party and called on members to ensure the PDP regains its lost ground in the state.

The inauguration took place in Ado Ekiti, where Omolasa emphasized the need for unity and discipline among party members. Bisi Kolawole, a former PDP governorship candidate, highlighted the internal challenges the party has faced and stressed the importance of restoring unity and confidence among members.

The newly elected state executive committee includes notable figures such as Babatunde Akande (Deputy Chairman) and Femi Philip (Public Secretary). The faction aims to reconcile with other factions within the party, particularly the one led by Tanimu Turaki, as they prepare for upcoming elections.
