PDP's Umar Sani Calls Party Directionless and Urgent for Unity

Umar Sani, a chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), lamented the party's current state, describing it as "an orphan" due to its lack of leadership and direction. In an interview on Wednesday, Sani pointed out that the main challenge for the PDP is no longer external threats but rather its internal disarray and failure to participate effectively in elections.

He emphasized the urgent need to restore the party's internal structure and unity, noting that the PDP currently operates without clear guidance. Sani referenced the faction led by Nyesom Wike, which he claimed has undermined the party's national executive committee by nullifying court rulings regarding member suspensions.

He stated that the party must pursue reconciliation and follow the advice of the Ibadan court of appeal, which recommended a review of the party's internal issues to make necessary adjustments and accept the court's judgment.
