PDP Leaders Meet to Resolve Internal Disputes Ahead of Convention

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) held an emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja, led by Adolphu Wabara, to discuss reconciliation efforts amid internal disputes. This meeting, the third in a week, focused on resolving issues surrounding the planned national convention set for March 29-30, which is being led by Abdulrahman Moham's caretaker committee.

Turaki disclosed that the faction leadership remains open to reconciliation, and discussions aimed at resolving the crisis showed encouraging progress. The caretaker committee reportedly supports the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory's willingness to reconcile, but insists that the proposed national convention will proceed as scheduled.

Notably, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde sent apologies for his absence, while Bauchi State Governor is expected to join the session. The meeting concluded with an optimistic outlook on ongoing discussions to stabilize the party ahead of future elections.
