PDP Leaders Unite Ahead of March National Convention

Leaders of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) are meeting to strategize on unifying the party and preparing for the national convention set for March 29-30, 2024. Key figures in attendance include Adolphu Wabara, Bala Mohammed, Seyi Makinde, Bode George, Babangida Aliyu, and Umar Damagun.

The meeting, held in Abuja, follows a court ruling that affirmed the legitimacy of the party's national caretaker committee, led by Abdulrahman Mohammed. The PDP aims to address internal divisions and encourage collaboration among members, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the rule of law.

The leaders are also preparing to respond to the judgment from the appeal court and are focused on building a strong candidacy for the 2027 general elections. Seyi Makinde expressed concerns over defections but called for unity among party members to strengthen democracy in Nigeria.
