PDP leadership defends Taraba’ coordinator appointment process amid controversy

The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yangtu Special Development Area, Taraba State, has defended the appointment process of the area Coordinator amid controversy. The PDP refuted claims questioning the legitimacy of the recent appointment, describing the allegations as mischievous and aimed at inciting disunity.

The appointment of Joel Rimamscap as Coordinator, alongside a Deputy Coordinator and Secretary, followed a well-established zoning formula and extensive consultation with party executives, traditional rulers, youth groups, and elders. The PDP emphasized that the selection process was transparent and community-driven, rejecting insinuations of undue influence.

The party also clarified the removal of Hauwa Kwena as Deputy National Women Leader and her replacement with Tina Musa, who is currently a member of the party's National Executive Committee. The PDP urged residents and party members to disregard the propaganda and remain focused on serving the people of Yangtu.
