PDP Declares Stability Ahead of March National Convention

The Nyesom Wike faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has announced a state of stability as the party prepares for its national convention on March 29-30, 2024. Abdulrahman Moham, the chairman of the national caretaker working committee, reported significant progress in stabilizing the party despite underlying tensions and ongoing legal disputes.

He urged members to prioritize collective interests over personal ambitions and to engage in constructive dialogue to heal divisions. The convention is seen as a critical milestone that will shape the party's leadership and direction for future elections.

Moham highlighted the importance of unity and the party's ability to manage differences, while Mao Ohuabunwa, the PDP board of trustees chairman, called for widespread participation in ongoing electoral registration efforts. The meeting comes against the backdrop of a protracted leadership crisis that has affected the party since November 2025.
