Wike Faction Opposes Turaki's Legal Move Against PDP Convention

The ongoing conflict within the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has intensified as the faction led by Nyesom Wike has pledged to counter legal actions initiated by the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki faction. Turaki's group has approached a court in Ibadan seeking an injunction to prevent the national convention set for March 29-30, 2026.

In response, Jungudo Haruna Moham, a spokesperson for the PDP's national caretaker committee, expressed disappointment over the legal maneuver, emphasizing the party's commitment to reconciliation and dialogue. He noted that the leadership had extended multiple invitations for discussions, which the Turaki faction failed to engage with meaningfully.

Despite the legal challenge, the PDP leadership remains resolute, asserting that the convention will proceed as planned and that the legitimacy of the caretaker committee has been affirmed by the federal high court and appeal court. The party aims to deliver a successful and credible convention amidst these internal disputes.
