PDP NEC Supports Caretaker Committee, Sets Date for National Convention

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) National Executive Committee (NEC) has backed the Caretaker Committee and set the date for the party's National Convention on March 28-29, 2026. The NEC reaffirmed the committee's authority during its 105th meeting in Abuja.

The committee's leadership, led by Abdulrahman Muham, was declared valid and binding following a legal judgment by the Federal High Court in Ibadan. The NEC directed all PDP organs, members, and stakeholders to comply strictly with existing court judgments and INEC regulations.

The Caretaker Committee was granted an extended tenure at the national, state, and zonal levels until the conclusion of the congress and convention. The NEC emphasized unity, discipline, and loyalty within the party to rebuild a strong and competitive platform for future elections.
