PDP North-West Leaders Reject Turaki's Endorsement, Governor Fintiri Adopted as Consensus Candidate

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) North-West leaders have rejected the endorsement of Turaki as the consensus chairman, stating that the decision did not reflect the collective agreement of stakeholders in the region. Umar Bature, speaking on behalf of the zone's leaders, emphasized the lack of proper consultation and unilateral announcement.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State was adopted as the consensus candidate for the national chairmanship, leading to discontent among party members in the North-West. Notable figures like Ibrahim Tsauri, Isa Ashiru, Mustapha Lamido, and Sule Lamido were present at the briefing in Abuja.

The North-West zone, considered the party's strongest zone, is set to present its preferred candidate for the chairmanship position.
