PDP Strong in Ekiti, Oluyede to Appear on Ballot

Lanre Fajuyi, serving as the southwest zonal ex-officio of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has declared that the party is not dead in Ekiti State and will remain a strong contender in the upcoming June 2026 governorship election. He confirmed that Wole Oluyede's name will appear on the ballot, despite ongoing controversies surrounding the party's status.

Fajuyi made these statements while distributing food items to the Muslim community in Ado Ekiti during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of unity within the party across religious lines. He dismissed claims of the PDP's collapse following its removal from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list, asserting that the party is fully operational at both ward and national levels.

PDP chairman in Ado Ekiti, Michael Odeyemi, supported Fajuyi's claims, attributing the party's internal challenges to disgruntled elements and reaffirming the leadership of Tanimu Turaki as the recognized national chairman.
