Saraki Affirms PDP's Strength Amid Internal Crises

Bukola Saraki, the former Senate President and a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), stated that the PDP continues to be a strong political force despite ongoing internal crises within the party. Speaking as a guest on Channels Television's "Politics Today," Saraki dismissed claims that the PDP has lost its relevance in Nigeria's political landscape.

He highlighted the party's grassroots support, using Kwara State as an example of strong loyalty among members. Saraki addressed the internal developments within the party and noted that a convention was held in Ibadan, allowing delegates from Kwara State to participate.

He expressed disappointment that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not attend the convention, which he believes is crucial for ensuring the legitimacy of the electoral process. Saraki confirmed his intention to attend the upcoming national convention of the PDP and urged members to participate to strengthen unity within the party as they look toward the 2027 general elections.
