PDP Loses Three Senators to APC, Now Has 14 Members

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has seen its Senate representation shrink to 14 following the defection of three senators to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The senators who switched parties include Aminu Iya Abba from Adamawa Central, Ikra Aliyu Bilbi from Zamfara Central, and Ipialibo Banigo from Rivers West.

Their defections were formally communicated through a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The senators cited ongoing divisions within the PDP at the national level and issues related to the party's primaries as their reasons for leaving.

Despite their departure, the senators expressed gratitude to the PDP for providing them with a platform to represent their constituencies in the Senate.
