PDP Criticizes APC for Nigeria's Terrorism Ranking

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) condemned the APC-led government's handling of national security following Nigeria's ranking as the fourth most impacted country by terrorism in the 2026 Global Terror Index. The report, released on Thursday, indicated that Nigeria recorded 750 deaths due to terrorism in 2025, marking a 46% increase compared to the previous year.

PDP's National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, stated that the report reflects worsening insecurity across the country and accused the government of failing in its primary responsibility to protect lives and property. The PDP urged President Bola Tinubu to utilize his political acumen to decisively address these security issues.

The report highlighted that Nigeria, along with three other countries, accounted for nearly 70% of terror-related deaths, emphasizing the urgent need for a comprehensive approach to security rather than reactive measures. The PDP criticized the current administration for its inability to ensure safety and peace for Nigerian citizens.
