ADC Critiques Tinubu as Nigeria Ranks Fourth in Terrorism

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has responded to Nigeria's ranking as the fourth most terror-affected country in the Global Terror Index 2026, attributing this status to the failures of President Bola Tinubu's administration in securing the nation. The ADC highlighted a 43% increase in terror attacks and civilian deaths, with Borno State accounting for 67% of the attacks and 72% of the deaths.

ADC's statement emphasized the urgent need for the government to prioritize security over public relations efforts. Borno State Governor Professor Babagana Zulum warned against individuals or groups aiding terrorists, pledging to take legal action against them.

Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede reaffirmed the military's commitment to enhancing operational capabilities. The ADC outlined a three-part strategy focusing on improving intelligence coordination, decentralizing police efforts, and reactivating community-led security operations to address the worsening security crisis in Nigeria.
