PDP and Sowore Praise Rescue of Abducted Oyo Students

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) and Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, expressed relief and commendation following the successful rescue of abducted schoolchildren and teachers in Orir Local Government Area, Oyo State. The victims were released after spending 57 days in captivity.

The PDP, through its spokesman Ini Ememobong, issued a statement on Friday, acknowledging the collaborative efforts that led to the victims' safe return and praising the federal government, Oyo State government, and security agencies involved in the operation. The operation resulted in the arrest of eight suspects, with some members of the criminal gang neutralized.

The PDP emphasized the need for enhanced security measures across the country to prevent similar incidents and ensure that schools remain safe for children and teachers. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde also expressed gratitude to the security personnel involved in the rescue operation.
