PDP Declares Itself Alive Amidst Akpabio's Claims

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) addressed comments made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who suggested that the party is dead. PDP spokesperson Haruna Jungudo firmly stated that the party is alive and remains a highly sought-after political entity.

He highlighted the party's historical strength and legitimacy, asserting that it has weathered political storms and emerged stronger. Jungudo pointed to recent successes, including victories in local government elections in Adamawa State and a Senate bye-election in River State, as evidence of the party's ongoing appeal.

He also noted the influx of political leaders from various states, including Katsina, Jigawa, Imo, and Oyo, joining the PDP, which he claims demonstrates its broadening national appeal. Jungudo urged Akpabio to respect the office he occupies and recognize the PDP's enduring presence in Nigerian politics, contrasting it with the claims of its demise.
