Fayose Backs Oyebanji, Tinubu for Upcoming Elections

Ayodele Fayose, the former governor of Ekiti State, publicly endorsed the re-election of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the gubernatorial election scheduled for June 2026. During a campaign event in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, Fayose, who remains a member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), stated that he would work to ensure Oyebanji's re-election.

He justified his support by highlighting the good work and leadership style of Oyebanji, asserting that his performance warrants continuity in office. Fayose also expressed support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in 2027, setting a target of 500,000 votes for the APC in Ekiti State.

He emphasized that the upcoming Ekiti governorship election serves as a test ground for Tinubu's presidency, indicating the importance of Oyebanji's leadership in the context of national politics.
