Tinubu Congratulates Oyebanji on Ekiti Re-election Victory

President Bola Tinubu expressed his congratulations to Biodun Oyebanji following his re-election as governor of Ekiti State, describing the outcome as a clear vote of confidence in continuity, stability, and development. Tinubu released a statement through Bayo Onanuga, commending the peaceful conduct of the election and urging Oyebanji to carry the people of Ekiti along in his governance.

Oyebanji, who emerged as the first governor in Ekiti State to win re-election consecutively, emphasized his commitment to serving the people with humility and courage. However, Dare Bejid, the candidate from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), rejected the election results, alleging widespread vote-buying and irregularities.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed the results, while various organizations, including Yiaga Africa, noted discrepancies in voter turnout data. Despite the controversies, Tinubu reaffirmed the federal government's commitment to partnering with Ekiti State to deliver democratic dividends.
