PDP Welcomes INEC's Candidate Publication for 2027 Elections

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed its approval of the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) publication of candidates' names for the 2027 elections. This announcement, made on Sunday, signifies the party's readiness to contest the elections and dispels previous misinformation regarding its ability to field candidates.

Notably, Senator Professor Sandy Ojang Onor has been named the PDP's presidential candidate, with Alhaji Babangida Umar as his running mate. The PDP stated that this development counters claims aimed at misleading the public about the party's electoral prospects.

The party commended the judiciary and security agencies for their roles and praised its supporters for their loyalty. The NWC, under the leadership of Honourable Abdulrahman Mohammed and Senator Samuel Anyanwu, emphasized its commitment to reconciliation and unity within the party, inviting returning and new members to join in strengthening the PDP ahead of the elections.
