The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State expressed goodwill towards Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, following reports of her registration with the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, a former senator under the PDP, completed her online registration in Ibogun Ward 11, Ifo Local Government Area. The APC neither confirmed nor denied her registration, emphasizing an ongoing membership drive.

Speculation arose about her potential political future, including a possible contest for the Ogun Central Senatorial seat. Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, a trained veterinarian, previously served as a commissioner and senator, losing her re-election bid in 2011.
