Umeh Critiques Sheriff’s Outdated Political Tactics

Victor Umeh, a senator representing Anambra Central, criticized former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff for using outdated political thinking during an interview on Channel Television. Umeh's comments were a response to Sheriff’s assertion that the northern region would not vote for presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Umeh emphasized that Nigeria has progressed beyond divisive politics and accused Sheriff of attempting to incite sentiments against Obi. He maintained that Obi is one of Nigeria's finest politicians, promoting peace and unity.

Umeh stated that the country cannot move forward without reconciliation and healing, and he urged that the narrative should shift towards positive change rather than division. He reiterated that Obi's message is one of non-violence and peace, contrasting it with Sheriff’s divisive rhetoric.
